Born in Mexico City, Alexis Nutini received an MFA in Printmaking from the Tyler School of Art in 2005, a BA in Fine Art from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2000 and completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Barcelona, Spain in 2001. Alexis teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the Tyler School of Art and is a member of NAPOLEON, a collectively-run project space. He runs Dos Tres Press, a printshop in south Philadelphia where he produces limited edition woodcuts and collaborative print based projects.
Alexis Nutini will be creating a unique edition of reduction woodcuts, in which each print will have six to eight layers of color. Although all of the prints will come from the same block, each will be distinct based on the colors used and stage of the block.
